I’m obsessed with a man I can’t have.
For over a year, I have not only worked with Jake, but I have lived with him too.
Why can’t I have him?
He’s getting married to my mother.
When she suddenly decides to move out of the house, the tension between Jake and I reaches a fever pitch.
Feelings which had been bottled up for so long are now bursting to get out.
I can no longer hide the overwhelming emotions that flow through me.
Unfortunately, neither can a serial killer on the loose dubbed “The Blonde Killer.”
I am his obsession.
And Jake, the senior detective in charge of the Major Investigations Unit, is responsible for catching the murderer.
I’m scared, but I know Jake will do everything in his power to protect me.
I feel things can’t get any worse.
Until they do.

*This book is a re-release of a book I have previously purchased*

WARNING!!
Take a Breath is a re-published book after the author re-edited it, so if you read this in 2013, I wholeheartedly recommend that you read it again! ALSO, it ends with a cliffhanger! And while normally I would warn you away from those books, this one is certainly worth it.

Take a Breath is based around Ana Sinclair, who had a difficult childhood, moving from home to home, as her mother would scam men, in search of the "perfect life" which never came!

At 22, Ana is determined to be something her mother is not! A responsible adult! Ana completed her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, has a fantastic job as a Crime Analyst and lives and works with a man called Jake Bennett, a who she cannot get out of her head no matter how hard she tries! Even though he is the most forbidden man on the planet! At least for Ana, as he is her mother's latest fiancĂ©!

But things rapidly change in Ana's world! Her mother has taken off, a serial killer is on the loose killing women who look like her! Who is it? Why are they targeting her!

One I first read this book in 2013, I loved the caveman side of Jake, I was impressed with the storyline and the English-isms that only a British author can bring!

But the 2018 edition brings the edge! The thriller aspect, the "COME ON GIVE ME BOOK TWO" desperation! (and yes! I'm shouting it). And even though Jake is still the impossible caveman we have all come to love, Ana is truly even more of a spitfire than before!

As I said before Take a Breath is a two-part series, so yes this book ends on a cliffhanger, but don't let that deter you from reading this delicious morsel!

I give Take a Breath 5 stars!
