He was nobody's hero until he landed in the wrong bed …
Armed with a golden retriever and a concealed weapons permit, Lena Clark is fighting for normal. She served her country, but the experience left her emotionally numb and estranged from her career-military family. Staying in Independence Falls seems like the first step to reclaiming her life until the town playboy stumbles into her bed …
Chad Summers is living his dream—helicopter logging by day and slipping between the sheets with Mrs. Right Now by night. Until his wild nights threaten his day job, leaving Chad with a choice: prove he can settle down or kiss his dream goodbye. But when he ends up in the wrong bed, the one woman in Independence Falls he can't touch offers a tempting proposition. Chad is ready and willing to give in to the primal desire to make Lena his at night—on one condition. By day, they pretend their relationship is real.
But their connection extends beyond the bedroom, threatening to turn their sham into reality if Chad can prove he's the hero Lena needs night and day … forever.
Sara
Jane Stone’s books have never failed to bring me to tears, but this book more
than most!
Lena
is a retired Army Intelligence officer who is suffering from PTSD. When she
returned home from war, the PTSD took more and more of Lena’s life away from her,
soon separating her from her husband, family and friend. So Lena and her
service dog Hero escaped Portland and moved to Independence Falls to find
peace. What she didn’t expect to find was playboy Chad Summers.
Chad
loved women and wasn’t looking for a relationship of any type, but after an
incident with Lena and Hero and drama from his “dating”, Lena and Chad came to
an agreement for Lena to play Chad’s girlfriend, but it soon turns in to more
until Lena’s past and her PTSD stops her in her tracks….
This
book is mind-blowingly beautiful! The characters are amazing and Sara Jane’s knowledge
about PTSD clearly shows. I had tears streaming down my face from beginning to
end of this book. The book was well written, no plot holes, well informed and
Sara Jane Stone should be commended for writing about a women suffering from
PTSD, which in my opinion is often overlooked.
I give
Hero by Night a well-deserved 10 out of 10 and I look forward to reading more
of this series.
