In need of a wife…
Christian Villiers, the Marquess of St. Cyr, despises the role he’s been cast into as fortune hunter but requires the funds to keep his marquisate solvent. Yet, the sins of his past cloud his future, preventing him from seeing beyond his fateful actions at the Battle of Toulouse. For he knows inevitably it will catch up with him, and everyone will remember his actions on the battlefield that cost so many so much—particularly his best friend.
In want of a husband…
Lady Prudence Tidemore’s life is plagued by familial scandals which makes her own marital prospects rather grim. Surely there is one gentleman of the ton who can look past her family and see just her and all she has to offer?
When Prudence runs into Christian on a London street, the charming, roguish gentleman immediately captures her attention. But then a chance meeting becomes a waltz, and now…
A Perfect Match…
All she must do is convince Christian to forget the cold requirements he has for his future marchioness. But the demons in his past prevent him from turning himself over to love. One thing is certain, Prudence wants the marquess and is determined to have him in her life, now and forever. It’s just a matter of convincing Christian he wants the same.

So I was super excited to get stuck
into the new Christi Caldwell’s new book Captivated by a Lady’s Charm, and it sure
didn’t disappoint me in any way.
This is the story of Christian and
Prudence (aka Pru). Christian Villiers, the Marquess of St. Cyr is cast into a
role that he hates! To keep his title solvent he has to marry a woman for her
fortune.
Lady Prudence Tidemore family seems
to attract scandals and but Pru still hopes that there will be one man out
there that will look past her family and see her for who she is! And that she
could find the love that her siblings seem to have found.
But nothing runs smoothly for this
pair. From Pru’s families dislike of Christian, Christian’s determination to
have a cold and restrictive marriage to someone from the pasts is determined and
to destroy them and their reputations. You are left wondering if Christian and
Pru can overcome all these hurdles and find their way back to each other.
Christi Caldwell has managed to do it
again! She has managed to reduce me into a complete pile of mush, just by
reading this book! This book has simply everything, envy, determination, realization,
regret and betrayal. The morals are just flowing out of this book, and by the
time I finished reading the story, I had this warm feeling of hope and love.
So let’s get to the basics of this
book; the writing is smooth, the plot is well researched and the characters are
amazing! The only question I am left with is does the Duke of Blackthorne get
his own book, though I am not sure he deserves it at this point.
Overall I found Captivated by a Lady’s
Charm an amazing book, which I loved very much! And I give if a well-deserved
10 out of 10!
USA Today Bestselling author, Christi Caldwell blames Judith
McNaught's "Whitney, My Love," for luring her into the world of
historical romance. While sitting in her graduate school apartment at
the University of Connecticut, Christi decided to set aside her notes
and try her hand at writing romance. She believes the most perfect
heroes and heroines have imperfections and she rather enjoys tormenting
them before crafting a well-deserved happily ever after!
Christi
makes her home in Southern Connecticut where she spends her time
writing, chasing around her feisty six-year old son and caring for her
twin princesses in training!
