A rogue:
Marcus, the Viscount Wessex has carefully crafted the image of rogue and charmer for polite Society. Under that façade, however, dwells a man who had his heart shattered eight years earlier when a young lady captured his heart, pledged her love, and then left him, with nothing more than a curt note.
A widow:
Years earlier, faced with no other choice, Mrs. Eleanor Collins fled London and the only man she ever loved, Marcus, Viscount Wessex. A poor merchant’s daughter she has now returned to serve as a companion for her recently widowed, elderly aunt. There is little reason for her to move in the same circles as Marcus, which is good for when they’re together, she is reminded of all she lost, when she left him.
Reunited:
The connection between Eleanor and Marcus’ family makes it impossible for them to avoid one another. As their paths continue to cross, Marcus finds his desire for Eleanor just as strong, but he learned long ago she’s not to be trusted. He will offer her a place in his bed, but never be anything more. Only, Eleanor has no interest in this new, roguish Marcus. The more they are thrown together, the protective walls they've built to keep the other out, begin to break. Except, with all the betrayals and secrets between them, Marcus has to open his heart again. And Eleanor must decide if it’s ever safe to trust a rogue.

So
we are back with another amazing Christi Caldwell book! And I am so excited to
get stuck in with another story.
Eleanor
Collins is back in London to fulfill the requirements of her Uncle’s will, with
the hope never to be seen by two men! One whom she loved more than life, but
had to give up and another who took something from her and made her flee in the
first place. But this time she is not alone, this time she has her daughter to
protect.
Marcus
Grey, The Viscount of Wessex; realizes that he finally need to put his lost
love into the past and move forward in finding a wife…well that’s at least what
he tells his family anyway, But Eleanor is back and Marcus wants answers…he
also wants Eleanor. But will he ever get her out of his blood.
When
the truth of past hurts comes to light, it changed the present and future for
both Eleanor and Marcus; that is until evil rears its ugly head! Will their
love be able to stand this test again?
This
book reduced me to a blubbering mess! By heart hurt for Eleanor and Marcus, I
became angry at Marcus’s sister Lizzie! I loved Eleanor’s Aunt Dorothea, she is
so forthright, and she is defiantly a beloved battle-axe in my eyes at least. But
I will reveal that there is pure evil in this book, which comes in the guise of
a character, that I did suggest to the author that should be eaten by rats! But
in her wisdom she didn’t take my advice…I guess I am a little bloodthirsty!
The
writing in the book is truly magnificent; the characters are easy to fall in
love with and the plot; despite its difficult story line, was a work of art!
I
give To Trust a Rogue 5 stars!
USA TODAY Bestselling author CHRISTI CALDWELL blames Judith
McNaught’s “Whitney, My Love!” for luring her into the world of
historical romance. While sitting in her graduate school apartment at
the University of Connecticut, Christi decided to set aside her notes
and pick up her laptop to try her hand at romance. She believes the most
perfect heroes and heroines have imperfections, and she rather enjoys
torturing them before crafting them a well deserved happily ever after!
Christi makes her home in southern Connecticut where she spends her
time writing her own enchanting historical romances, chasing around her
feisty six-year-old son and caring for her twin princesses in training!
Cara, I hope you realise that your reviews are urging me to catch up with reading my stash of Christi's books!!
