Tempting Mr. Weatherstone
Wallflower Weddings #0.5
Vivienne Lorret
Penelope Rutledge longs for passion, but only with the man of her dreams: the brilliant, dashing Ethan Weatherstone. If only her longtime neighbor would open his eyes and realize how much she loves him. If only they weren’t best friends with so much at stake. Penelope knows her future - and their friendship - is in her hands, but is she willing to take the biggest risk of all on the man she loves?
If it were up to Ethan, life and love would be as predictable as the figures in his ledgers - certainly nothing like the adventures Penelope longs for. Yet his childhood friend has grown into a beautiful, feisty woman blissfully unaware of the danger she causes when near. Ethan knows he must save Penelope-and her reputation...but can he save himself from the temptation of her lips?

Tempting Mr. Weatherstone
was the first book (prequel Novella) in the Wallflower Wedding by the super
talented Vivienne Lorret. I never actually read this book when it was a part of
the Five Golden Rings anthology, but Avon Romance in their wisdom decided to
republish it and I am eternally grateful that they did.
So the story
begins with Penelope Rutledge saying goodbye to her sister and while delighted
that her sister was expecting another child; she was also very much aware that
her own 4 seasons and 2 marriage proposals had passed her (because she feels
that she was too picky) and now she was firmly on the shelf.
Ethan; her
neighbor and friend, enjoyed routine and never wished for anything to destroy
his well-ordered life! He was content with everything to go on as they always
did. His mother in his house and regular visits and dinners from his friend
Penelope and her father, yes he was quite satisfied. That is until the morning
Penelope’s sister left and Penelope brought change to their lives…..and I am
going to leave you there with that great teaser.
The 4 main
characters in this book are perfect. From Penelope’s need to change her life,
to find some meaning to Ethan’s desire to keep everything the same, to their
parents who look on fondly. I love this novella so much; I have honestly read
it about 10 times! Trust me folks! You will fall in love with this book as much
as I have.
I cannot tell
you just how much I LOVE the Wallflower Wedding Series, I literally stalk
Vivienne Facebook page for news of an upcoming release (sorry Viv). So with
that being said, I give Tempting Mr. Weatherstone a marvelous 5 stars! and I am
back off to Facebook.
Ethan moved
the quill off to the side, hovering over the blotter so the ink wouldn’t spot
the ledger. He regarded Pen with a speculative lift of his brow. Had there ever
been a time when she allowed him to ignore her?
As if
unaware of this simple fact, she stared back at him, waiting for a response. He
obliged her, repeating her ridiculous statement back to her, verbatim—all
accept for the bit about the natives.
“You are going to hire a coach to take you as far away from here as
possible. Quite possibly, you will never return. You might find yourself on the
continent or on some sailing vessel—Though I might add that finding yourself in another place
suggests a shock of some sort. In other words, a complete lack of planning.”
She let out
a huff and crossed her slender arms, the action causing her woolen shawl to
bunch over her breasts. “Oh, why do I even bother?”
“Haven’t the
faintest.”
This time,
Penelope glared at him, her nose wrinkling in a way that drew his attention to
her freckles. He liked her freckles. They were balanced and orderly—four on the
left and four on the right.
It was
ironic that eight such sensible freckles could be on someone so lacking in
sensibility.
Daring Miss Danvers
Wallflower Weddings #1
Vivienne Lorret
It’s all fun and games...until someone falls in love.
Oliver Goswick, Viscount Rathburn, needs money and soon. With time ticking away and his inheritance held hostage until he’s properly wed, Rathburn’s slim options point to just one solution: a mock courtship. In need of the perfect bride, he knows of only one candidate: his best friend’s wallflower sister. The plan seems flawless; except for just one thing...he can’t help falling in love with her.
Poised, polished Emma Danvers knows nothing good can come of Rathburn’s scheme. Spending the next two months engaged in a mock courtship is not what she’d imagined for her final season. Yet, charmed by his roguish ways and the inexplicable hammering he causes in her heart, she accepts his challenge.
For Emma, keeping the secret seems easy when it was just a game... but as Rathburn begins to see past her reserved exterior to the passionate woman within, the risk of losing her heart becomes all too real.

Historical
romances have always been my first book love and Daring Miss Danvers has
slipped up into my top 10 of all-time favorites. I literally fell in love with
every character of this book, not just the main characters, even though
"Emma-Mine" and Oliver (Rathburn) stole my heart. I also loved Emma's
eccentric Mother Celeste. Her annoying but loyal brother Rafe and Olivers
(Rathburn) commanding Grandmother the Dowager Duchess.
Ms. Lorrets
writing flows so seamlessly that it truly made me feel a part of the book. Like
I was there, watching Emma and Oliver (Rathburn) falling in love firsthand.
There was no predictability that most historical romances have become of late.
The book is fresh and pulls you in from the first page. It was truly a pleasure
to read.
This book earned
5 stars from me, for being original, brilliant and wishing I was born in a
different century!
Winning Miss Wakefield
Wallflower Weddings #2
Vivienne Lorret
She’s got nothing left to lose…
With her fiancé suddenly engaged to another and her reputation in tatters, Merribeth Wakefield needs a bold plan to reclaim her life. She must be brave. Confident. She must… kiss a rake? The suggestion is ludicrous! Yet, when Merribeth finds herself alone with the dark and brooding Lord Knightswold, suddenly the plan doesn’t seem so farfetched. So she does something she never thought she’d do—she kisses him.
But he has everything to gain…
The Marquess of Knightswold—Bane to most—has no use for the affections of women. Well, none lasting longer than a single night. A plot for revenge weighs heavy on his mind, leaving no room for romance. So, when a shy, witty miss borrows a kiss from him in a darkened room, everything he thought he knew about innocent debutants vanishes along with her.
Yet when a twist of fate brings Merribeth within Bane’s grasp, he’ll have to resist her charms—or risk losing everything—for the sake of his heart.

Wow!
Just wow! Winning Miss Wakefield is the second book in the Wallflower Wedding
Series by Vivienne Lorret and in my opinion it’s even better than the first.
I
liked Merribeth from the first moment and I like her even more when she
"borrowed" a kiss in her first meeting with Bane. I loved the way
that Bane took the one imperfection society saw and made it one of the things
he loves about his Venus (Merribeth). Again I loved the supporting characters,
especially Aunt Sophie. I have to admit I was totally floored by the
backstabbing deception on one of the main supporting characters, I never saw it
coming, which makes me SO very happy as I hate predicted storylines.
Winning
Miss Wakefield earns 5 stars from me. It made me laugh, cry and fall in love
all at the same time. It’s truly is the best Historical Romance Series I have
read this year
Finding Miss McFarland
Wallflower Weddings #3
Vivienne Lorret
Delaney McFarland is on the hunt for a husband—preferably one who needs her embarrassingly large dowry more than a dutiful wife. After the unspeakable incident at her debut, Delaney knows marrying for love is off the table, but a marriage of convenience—one that leaves her free to live the life she chooses—is the next best thing, never mind what that arrogant, devilishly handsome Mr. Croft thinks. Delaney plans to marry for money … or not at all.
Ever since the fiery redhead burst into his life—in a most memorable way—Griffin Croft hasn't been able to get Miss McFarland out of his mind. Now, with the maddening woman determined to hand over her fortune to a rake, Griffin knows he must step in. He must help her. He must not kiss her. But when Griffin's noble intentions flee in a moment of unexpected passion, his true course becomes clear: tame Delaney's wild heart and save her from a fate worse than death … a life without love..

So
when I saw the blog tour for another book the wonderful Vivienne Lorret's
Wallflower Wedding Series and I was SO excited, not only to read the story but
to be a part of the tour. Vivienne Lorret is such a wonderful writer and has
helped me fall in love with historical romance. Her first two books were
amazing and completely blew my mind. But then I read Finding Miss McFarland and
the story brought me to my knees, the power and emotions in this book are
amazing! Which lead me to say "Vivienne, where have you been all my (book
reading) life!
But
let’s start with a glimpse of the story shall we. So the book starts with a disastrous
debut and unfortunately it’s the debut of our heroine Delaney McFarland. To
cover the issues of the debut, Delaney's father just added more money to her
obscene dowry, but that doesn't some any issues, you see Delaney McFarland
needs a husband. But not for love, oh no! Delaney McFarland is looking for a
marriage of convenience (I know! switcharoo!), because she wants to be free to
follow her own pursuits (I'm not going to tell you what they are ;-))
But
then comes Griffin Cross (whom, in my head is the perfect man), a man who looks
beyond Delaney's wealth and even her disastrous debut and just sees her.
I
laughed, cried, snorted (I know, not pretty) and cheered my way through Finding
Miss McFarland, it was such a beautiful story and one that I have re-read 3
times. Each character in this book holds a special place in my heart and one I
would love to send to a dungeon somewhere (you will know who I mean when you
read the book). This book is pure goodness and a keeper for many years.
I give Finding Miss
McFarland 5 stars! It is a beautiful story and in my humble opinion, a timeless
historical romance classic!Enter to Win a Wallflower Weddings Tote Bag Prize Pack
