You can’t put the brakes on love…

Ronnie Ashford needs a distraction. In the morning, she has to offer arrogant, conventional Jack Crews a job and convince him not to take it. She doesn’t need anyone’s help, thank you very much. But tonight is all about the tall, sexy stranger who just walked in the bar—and all the delicious trouble they could get into together. Too bad just as things are heating up between them, he whispers the three little words that destroy everything: “I’m Jack Crews.”

Jack is determined to connect with fiery Ronnie—in bed and out of it—but her terms are clear. If he takes the job, helping her acquire prized artifacts for her mysterious bosses, anything between them is strictly off-limits. Somehow he has to convince a woman who’s never felt like she belonged that she’s found her place—with him. And with the danger sparking hotter than the fire between them, it’s going to be one unforgettable trip…

I'm super excited to be reading Slow Ride, which is the second installment of the Road to Love series by Lori Foster. And as with all other Lori Foster books, Slow Ride starts off in a way that you cannot put the book down, even if its 2am and you have to work the next day...sleep is for the weak right!

But on with the story! Veronica "Ronnie" Ashford is on a mission, and that mission is to find the driver her boss wants her to work with and convince him that he doesn't need or want the job. But the night before the meeting, Ronnie needs a distraction and after a trip to the local bar, it comes in the form of 6 foot tall, light brown hair, and "delicious biceps", Well it would have been perfect until the distraction whispers the words "I'm Jack Crews"

Now I'm not going to go any more into the story, as it will basically end up just one big spoiler, but I have to say that I did enjoy Ronnie's character a lot! She has had to fight for everything in her life, and she is determined to do things her way! And if you have read Driven to Distraction, then you will find certain similarities to Mary, but Ronnie has more spunk and sassiness that I love.

Jacks character is lovely too, I really enjoyed his sensitivities to others, but also his steadfast determination to protect those he cares about, especially Ronnie. I also love his love and respect for his mother which is something we don't often see nowadays.

Slow Ride is a fantastic read, that left me sleep deprived, but happy, which is why I give it 5 stars!
